What is the Clarke School Country Fair and Cow Plop Bingo?
The “Cow Plop” is a fun filled family carnival that is sponsored by the Clarke School PTA. It includes lots of games, rides, food. raffles, local vendors and culminates in the “Cow Plop Bingo”. This is also our largest fundraiser bringing in around $10,000 in profit that helps fund many of the cultural arts event and field trips throughout the school year.
What kinds of things are there to do at the Cow Plop?
We have games like basketball shoot, hi striker, goldfish and the cake walk which a musical chairs where the winner takes home a yummy cake. The food includes hot dogs, pizza, drinks, snacks and ice cream treats. We raffle off lots of great items that are donated by local merchants and family and friend of Clarke School including lots of gift certificates. We also have “theme” baskets like arts and crafts, sports and barbeque where we have each class collect items and raffle those off. We have rides and attractions like the moon bounce and team challenge obstacle course. There is also a petting zoo. There is a marketplace where local vendors sell everything from handmade jewelry to sports memorabilia to Mary Kay cosmetics.
What is the “Cow Plop Bingo”?
It is a raffle with a Grand Prize of $2000, Second Prize of $500 and a Third Prize of $200. There are only 500 numbered tickets that are sold at $20 each. For the Cow Plop part of the field at the school is marked off with a 500 square grid. We have a cow walk around the grid and whatever square the cow plops on is the winner.
How can I get a Cow Plop ticket?
We will send home two cow plop tickets to each Clarke School Family and ask them to either purchase them or sell them to their friends or family. If for some reason you find it difficult to do this then return the unsold tickets back to the school. Family can certainly purchase additional tickets from the PTA.
How can I volunteer?
There are many ways to volunteer. One way is that we assign one event to each class and ask the parents and guardians to donate a half an hour or more of their time to run that event. We also need help with food, set u and, clean up, helping collect raffle items and more. We will be sending out sign up sheets for volunteers or you can call a member of the PTA board to ask how you can help.
When is the CountryFair/Cow Plop this year?
This year’s 18th Annual Country Fair and Cow Plop will be held Sunday May 23rd 11:30-4:30. Rain Date Sunday June 6th 11:30-4:30.
